Little notes from facilitating workshop Exploring My Inner World
by Rossalina Lili
I began this workshop with little expectations.
There were many uncertainties surrounding the two-weekend workshop. The minimum number of participants. Some confirmed their participation only at the last minute. Some eventually cancelled. Others were not able to participate in the entire process.
As the workshop approached, I found myself carrying many questions.
Would the participants be enriched by sharing with one another?
There are only a few participants. Will there be enough examples and analyses to enrich the process?
Some participants cannot attend the whole workshop. Will they still be able to receive something meaningful from the experience?
And, alongside these professional concerns, there were also very personal ones:
Will my children be okay at home while my husband is away on a work trip?
These questions and uncertainties were present in me as I began the workshop.
Yet,
in the midst of all these worries, there was something …
Something that kept me moving forward: faithfulness to my
calling as PRH Professional. It strengthened me and gave meaning of what I was
doing.
My purpose was not simply to deliver a workshop or to ensure that everything went according to plan. I was there to accompany people who had chosen to make time for themselves—to pause, to look within, and to become more deeply acquainted with themselves through the PRH approach.
This faithfulness helped me speak to myself:
“It’s okay. Just go through it. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Good enough is enough. Perhaps I will not be able to give them everything, but maybe there will be something meaningful that each person can take home.”
So I continued.
And then, something unexpected began to happen.
As the process unfolded, my doubt slowly gave way to wonder.
I became deeply touched by the participants’ commitment and perseverance. I saw their willingness to enter seriously into the process of analysis, their courage to look at themselves, and their generosity in sharing their discoveries with one another.
I was touched by their willingness to give themselves time.
I was touched by their generosity in sharing.
And I was touched by their humility in bringing their personal analyses into the group, allowing their experiences to become a source of enrichment not only for themselves, but also for others.
What happened was far beyond what I had expected.
I found myself filled with admiration for the
participants—their courage, their perseverance, their openness, and their
willingness to remain engaged in the process of knowing themselves.
There was another discovery for me.
I was also being strengthened.
I was also being enriched.
I came to accompany the participants, but in the process, I discovered that I, too, was being accompanied by what emerged among us.
This is one of the things that continues to amaze me about a process of personal growth.
We may begin with a particular intention, but we cannot always predict what will emerge when people generously bring themselves into a space of listening, reflection, analysis, and sharing.
Something more can happen.
Something that cannot be entirely planned.
Something that goes beyond what each of us can create individually.
I believe there was a form of transcendence at work among us throughout these two weekends.
The richness of the process did not come from the number of participants. It came from the depth of their engagement.
It did not come from having perfect conditions. It came from the willingness of each person to show up, to look within, and to share what they discovered.
And perhaps this is also a reminder for me as a PRH Professional:
We do not always need perfect conditions to create a meaningful space for growth.
Sometimes, we simply need to remain faithful to what we believe is meaningful, take the next step, and trust the process.
I began this workshop wondering whether there would be enough to give.
I went home with wonder.
And, above all, I went home grateful.
Thank you to everyone who entrusted me with the privilege of accompanying you through these two weekends.
It was an honor to accompany you.
May we all continue to grow, to discover, and to become more fully ourselves.
